What is a Monthly Prayer in Fátima?

A Monthly Prayer in Fátima is a recurring devotional offering for those who wish to entrust an intention to Our Lady of Fátima month after month.

At Fátima Devotion, we act as a bridge for those who cannot travel to Portugal themselves. Each month, we personally carry out the devotion included in your chosen plan in Fátima, for the intention you have entrusted to us.

It can become a quiet monthly moment of faith: a way of keeping someone you love, a difficulty you are facing, a thanksgiving or a promise close to Our Lady of Fátima throughout the year.

What happens each month with my prayer?

Each month, we personally return to Fátima to carry out the offering included in your plan. Your candle or devotional offering is made for the intention you have entrusted to us, with the same care and reverence we would want for a prayer of our own.

Afterwards, we send you photo and/or video confirmation so that, although you may be far from Fátima, you can see the place where your monthly offering was made.

Is this just a candle subscription?

No. The candle is part of the offering, but it is not the reason this devotion exists. A Monthly Prayer in Fátima is intended to create continuity in prayer. It allows your intention to return to Fátima every month without distance preventing you from maintaining that devotion. For some people, it is a prayer for a sick parent. For others, it is protection for their children, remembrance of someone who has died, gratitude for a grace received or simply a desire to remain close to Our Lady of Fátima.

The physical candle represents that intention and prayer.

Who is a Monthly Prayer in Fátima for?

It is especially meaningful for someone who wants their devotion to continue beyond a single visit or a one-time candle.

You may choose a monthly prayer while praying for healing, protection, family, work, reconciliation, an important decision, a loved one who has died or a long-term personal intention.

You do not need to be physically present in Portugal. That is precisely why Fátima Devotion exists

Can I include my own prayer intention?

Yes. In fact, your intention is the heart of the monthly devotion. When you join, you can tell us whom or what you would like us to remember in Fátima.

It may be a very simple prayer or something deeply personal. You do not need to find perfect words. Write what is in your heart, and we will receive it with discretion and respect.

What can I ask Our Lady of Fátima to pray for?

You can entrust almost any sincere intention that is important to you or your family.

People commonly ask for prayers for health and healing, protection, children, parents, marriage, relationships, work, peace, guidance, difficult decisions, thanksgiving and deceased loved ones. There does not have to be a crisis.

A monthly devotion can also simply say: "Thank you."

It can be an act of gratitude for blessings received or a regular way of entrusting your family to the maternal protection of Our Lady of Fátima.

Can my monthly prayer be for another person?

Yes. Your monthly offering can be entrusted for your mother or father, your children, your husband or wife, a friend or anyone you carry in your heart.

Many people who contact Fátima Devotion do so precisely because someone they love is going through a difficult period and they wish to place that person spiritually before Our Lady of Fátima. You may also include more than one person in your intention when appropriate.

Can I keep the same prayer intention every month?

Of course. Some intentions accompany us for a long time.

If you are praying for someone undergoing treatment, for your children, for a family difficulty, for a relationship, for work or for the soul of someone who has died, you may wish to maintain the same intention month after month.

There is no need to change it unless you want to.

Can I change my intention from one month to another?

Yes. Prayer accompanies life, and life changes.

Perhaps one month you are praying intensely for someone's health, and some months later your prayer becomes one of thanksgiving. Perhaps a new concern arises in your family.

You can contact us to update the intention for an upcoming monthly offering. Your devotion can therefore accompany what is truly important in your life at that moment.

Can I choose the 13th of every month?

Yes, you may request it.

The 13th has a special place in the devotion to Our Lady of Fátima, recalling the apparitions of 1917.

For this reason, some people prefer their recurring offering to be associated with the 13th of each month.

Tell us your preference when you place your request. Whenever possible, we will organise your monthly offering around that date.

Can I request a Monthly Prayer for healing or recovery?

Yes. Many people entrust a recurring prayer to Fátima while they or someone they love is facing illness, surgery, medical treatment or a period of recovery.

Month after month, the devotion can become a small point of continuity during an uncertain period - a way of continuing to ask for strength, peace, hope and healing through the intercession of Our Lady of Fátima.

A devotional offering is an act of faith. It does not replace medical care and does not promise a particular medical outcome.

Can I entrust my family to Our Lady of Fátima every month?

Yes. A monthly devotion can be offered for your whole family or for particular members of it.

Some people pray for protection over their children. Others ask for peace in their home, reconciliation within the family, help for a spouse or guidance for someone who is going through a difficult period.

You can write those names and intentions when you make your request.

We will carry them with us to Fátima.

Can I pray every month for someone who has died?

Yes.

Remembering a deceased parent, spouse, child, relative or friend through a recurring devotion can be a deeply meaningful expression of love and remembrance.

Your monthly offering can be dedicated to their memory and entrusted in prayer in Fátima for as long as you wish.

For some families, an important date - particularly the day of death or another meaningful anniversary - becomes the chosen date for that monthly remembrance.

Will I receive photos or videos from Fátima every month?

Yes. After your monthly offering has been carried out, we send you photo and/or video confirmation, according to what is included in your plan.

For us, this is more than proof that a service was completed. It allows you to see the place where the devotion you entrusted to us was carried out and, in some small way, to feel closer to Fátima even when you cannot make the journey yourself.

How will I receive my photos and videos?

We can normally send your confirmation by email or WhatsApp (in somes cases also by WeTransfer). When a video file is too large to send directly, we may use a secure file-transfer link.

Our aim is to allow you to receive and keep a personal record of your monthly offering in Fátima.

When is my monthly offering made?

Your devotion is carried out once each month according to the arrangement associated with your plan.

If you have requested a particular day - such as the 13th of the month, a birthday or another significant date - we will take that preference into account whenever possible. If no special date has been requested, we arrange the offering during the corresponding monthly period.

How quickly will I receive my photos and videos?

We normally send confirmation after the offering has been completed, generally within 48 to 72 hours, although during particularly busy periods in Fátima it may take a little longer. We prefer to take the necessary time to carry out the devotion with care rather than treat your intention as another item to be processed quickly.

Can I change my Monthly Prayer plan later?

Yes. Your needs may change over time.

If you would like to change the type of monthly devotion you have chosen, contact Fátima Devotion and we will help you understand the available options.

The purpose of the plan is to serve your devotion - not to make it difficult for you to change it.

Can I cancel my Monthly Prayer?

Yes. Your monthly devotion should always remain voluntary.

If at some point you no longer wish to continue with future recurring offerings, you can cancel your subscription. You are not expected to continue a devotional service simply because you started one.

Do I need to be Catholic to request a Monthly Prayer in Fátima?

No. Fátima is profoundly rooted in the Catholic faith and in devotion to the Virgin Mary, and our services are carried out with respect for that religious tradition.

However, you do not need to prove that you are Catholic to entrust an intention to us.

Anyone who approaches Our Lady of Fátima and this place with sincerity and respect is welcome to send a prayer intention.

Is Fátima Devotion part of the official Sanctuary of Fátima?

No. Fátima Devotion is an independent service based in Fátima, Portugal. We are not the official website of the Sanctuary of Fátima.

Our role is different.

We help people who cannot travel to Fátima themselves by personally carrying out the devotional services described on our website on their behalf.

In other words, we do not replace a pilgrimage to Fátima — we help shorten the distance for those who cannot make that pilgrimage themselves.
